Your Trip Itinerary

Day 1 Delhi

Namaste. Welcome to India. Your introduction meeting begins at 6 pm at your hotel. We'll be collecting passport & visa details at this meeting, so ensure you bring these details to provide to your leader. After the meeting, you will be led for welcome dinner arranged by your Group Leader.

Day 2 Delhi

Our journey begins in the Indian capital today, Enjoy an early morning metro train ride to Old Delhi, visit chaotic markets and be mesmerised by the offering of spices, sweets and clothing.

Visit the Sikh temple (Gurudwara) to admire the religious ceremonies and communal kitchen. The communal kitchen offers meals to hundreds of people from every religion and nationality each day. Try your hand at making traditional ‘chapati’ bread.

After spending approximately 4 hours sightseeing, return to your hotel to wind down and reflect on this bustling and historical city.

Day 3 Agra

Rise early for your journey to Agra by road. Visit the UNESCO-listed Agra Fort, an important 16th-century Mughal monument resembling a walled city that is just one-and-a-half miles from its more famous neighbour, the Taj Mahal.

Consider visiting a local community project which manufactures handmade traditional carpets and mats. This project uses traditional weaving looms and styles and creates jobs and skills for marginalised local men and women.

Be mesmerised by the Taj Mahal that is built in the name of love and dedication to Shah Jahan's favourite wife. Wander through this architectural wonder observing intricate carvings, marble screens and inlaid semi-precious stones. Relax in the gardens watching a magical sunset over this famous monument.

Day 4 Ranthambore

After breakfast, drive to Ranthambore National Park (approx. 7 hours), stopping en route to visit the abandoned Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri. Ranthambore National Park covers some 240 square miles of beautiful scenery, boasts one of the country’s leading tiger conservation efforts and is one of the best places to spot this elusive animal in the wild. The afternoon is yours to relax or explore Ranthambore at leisure. In the evening enjoy a discussion on the famous tigers with a renowned local naturalist.

Ranthambore National Park, located at the junction of the Aravalli and Vindhya hill range covering an area of approx 400 square kilometers. Ranthambore was built by the Kachhwaha Rajputs and has a glorious history including lake palaces, 'chhatris', and the 1000-year-old fort overlooking the heritage site. There are many ruins of bygone eras scattered all over the jungle, which give it a unique, wonderful and mixed flavour of nature, history and wildlife.

Day 5 Ranthambore

Join the morning and afternoon 3 hour shared open top canter safari to spot tigers in the jungle. Ranthambore National Park became a sanctuary in 1955 and was one of the very first protected parks in India. The park is a wildlife enthusiast and photographer's dream and home to various species of deer and birds, antelopes, leopards and tigers.

Day 6 Jaipur

Today we take morning train to Jaipur (approx. 2.5 hours). Jaipur is known as the 'Pink City' and first planned city of India - and once enclose within fortified walls.

Spend your day weaving through colourful bazaars and hectic laneways. Enjoy a sweet local lassi (yoghurt and saffron drink) from the local market or take in a Bollywood blockbuster movie in the splendour of the Raj Mandir cinema.

Day 7 Jaipur

The Amber Fort is stunningly built in white marble and red sandstone influenced by Hindu and Muslim architecture. The interior core is decorated with paintings and mirrors depicting rich and ambitious dynasties. We visit the ‘Palace of the Winds’ which was constructed in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, reminiscent of Rajput and Mughal architecture and still sings the royal family glories. Hawa Mahal is an imposing structure that has five stories constructed of red and pink sandstone and highlighted with white quick lime and 953 beautifully carved windows and intricate screens that sheltered.

Day 8 Delhi

There are no activities planned for today. Return to Delhi by train (approx. 4.5 hours).

Day 9 Departure Day

Check out of the hotel by 12 noon.

If you decide to stay an extra couple of days, there are plenty of activities in and around the city to enjoy.
