Your Trip Itinerary

Day 1 Kathmandu

Welcome to Undiscovered India Trip! Your introduction meeting begins at 6 pm at your hotel. We'll be collecting passport & visa details at this meeting, so ensure you bring these details to provide to your leader. After the meeting, you will be led for welcome dinner arranged by your trip Leader.

Day 2 Kathmandu

After breakfast we visit the cultural sights of Kathmandu city (Approx 4 hours) by private vehicle.

Kathmandu is a magically romantic place where, fact entwines with fiction, myth with legend, religion with mysticism and adventure with meditation.

Included Activities:

  • The Pashupatinath Temple with its astonishing architectural beauty stands as a symbol of faith, religion, culture and tradition and dates back to 400 A.D. The richly-ornamented pagoda houses the sacred linga or phallic symbol of Lord Shiva. Thousands of pilgrims from all over the world come to pay homage to this temple, which is also known as 'The Temple of Living Beings'.
  • The Swambhunath Temple and Stupa is a golden spire crowning a conical wooded hill. It is the most ancient and enigmatic of all the holy shrines in Kathmandu Valley. It has a lofty white dome and a glittering golden spire that are visible from all sides of the valley.

Spend your free time in the bustling markets and consider visiting the Garden of dreams for a drink.

Day 3 Pokhara

Today we travel to Pokhara by private vehicle (Approx. 6 hours) to weave our way along the mountain range. Pokhara is nestled in a tranquil valley at an altitude of 827m; Pokhara is a place of natural beauty. The serenity of Fewa Lake and the magnificence of the fish-tailed summit of Machhapuchhre (6977m) rising behind it create an ambiance of peace and tranquillity. Pokhara lies on a once vibrant trade route extending between India and Tibet. To this day, mule trains can be seen camped on the outskirts of the town, bringing goods to trade from remote regions of the Himalaya.

Clearly the most stunning sight is the spectacular panorama of the Annapurna Range.

Day 4 Pokhara

Today we take a boat ride in the Fewa lake to enjoy the beautiful view of various range of mountains.

Consider travelling to Sarangkot (1592m) only 5 kilometres north east of Pokhara for a spectacular sunrise of the surrounding mountains (weather permitting). Pokhara has several beautiful lakes and offers stunning panoramic views of Himalayan peaks and a popular place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Relax in a café, hire a boat and float around the lake, or shop for Nepali and Tibetan souvenirs in the endless stalls and shops.

For those who are chasing more Himalayan adventure and unforgettable experience consider paragliding, kayaking and rafting that will definitely get your heart pumping.

Day 5 Chitwan National Park

Enjoy a morning drive from Pokhara to Chitwan National Park by private vehicle (Approx. 4h30m). Chitwan is situated in a river valley, along the flood plains of the Rapti, Reu and Narayani rivers with the National Park being renowned for the protection of endangered one-horned rhinoceros, Asian elephants and one of the last refuges for the Bengal tiger.

Late afternoon we visit Tharu tribal villages by bicycle (Approx. 2 hours) that will take you back in time enjoying the simplicity of life and watch beautiful sun setting over Jungle.

Day 6 Chitwan National Park – Ghatgai

The Royal Chitwan National Park covers 932 square kilometers, with rhinos, deer, monkeys and a wide array of birdlife including the infamous Nepalese wild chickens.

After breakfast we leave to explore Chitwan National park. We start our day adventure by taking dugout canoe (Approx. 2 hours) for bird watching. We land in the middle of Jungle by canoe and take an adventurous jungle safari ride in the search of Rhinos and weave your way through the jungle at the height perfect for taking photographs.

Tonight we stay in a tiny village on the border of Jungle with a local family. The small guest house we stay is basic but neat and clean.

Day 7 Chitwan National Park

After breakfast we take another jeep safari through the 20,000 lake side and Tharu villages (Approx.3 hours).

Enjoy your free Afternoon! Consider watching Tharu dance performance (Approx. 1 hours). Your trip leader will organise it on request.

Day 8 Lumbini

Morning drive to Lumbini by private vehicle (Approx. 4 hours). Lumbini is situated at the foothills of the Himalayas and birthplace of Lord Buddha. The Maya Devi Temple is one of four holy places to visit and reveals the existence of a brick temple and a sandstone sculpture which depicts the scenes of the Buddha's birth.

Day 9 Varanasi

Today, we have a long day travelling to Varanasi from Lumbini. We leave at 5:15 am from Lumbini hotel and arrive to Sanauli Borger (Approx. 1 hours). After the border formalities our drive to Varanasi is approximately 8 hours. Enjoy the hustle & Bustle in the small cities we pass through.

Varanasi is known as one of the oldest living cities dating back to 1400 BC. It is situated on the banks of the Ganga River, Varanasi is known as the holiest of the 7 sacred cities of Hinduism. It is believed that people are cleansed physically, mentally and spiritually at the Ghats and here you will see life and death swirling together as it has for thousands of years.

Enjoy an evening boat ride watching customs and traditions being celebrated on the banks of the Ganges. Take part in your own flower ceremony as you take in this historical and splendid display of worship.

  • Aarti worship from the Boat on the Ganges.

Day 10 Varanasi

Consider catching the early morning sunrise boat ride on the Ganges to experience prayers, offering of puja and daily rituals.

Late morning we take a boat trip to the country side on the Ganges to watch dolphins, ceremonies and traditional life (Approx. 3 hours).

If music is your passion consider visiting the Banaras Hindu University which is the largest residential university in Asia with students coming from around the world to study Hindu and learn the art of traditional music.

Day 11 Varanasi and Overnight train to Orchha

Today we take cycle rikshaws to the old city of Varanasi and enjoy your free time to photograph and spiritual walk on the Ghats.

Overnight train to Jhansi near Orchha (Approx. 11 hours).

Day 12 Orchha

Today morning we arrive to Jhansi by train and transfer to Orchha by private car (Approx. 30 minutes).

Orchha is situated along the banks of the Betwa River, Orccha a medieval town surrounded by battlement wall, palaces and temples built in the 16th and 17th centuries - and is a photographer and architectural delight.

Afternoon you will be led to the orientation walk of the town and spend your evening at an Indian cooking lesson with a local family as an introduction to the wonderful world of herbs and spices.

Day 13 Orchha

Today we visit Jahangir Mahal Palace, with its ornate ceremonial gateway, elegant hanging balconies, terraces, apartments and onion domes piled around a central courtyard which is an excellent example of Muslim domestic architecture. The Laxmi Narayan Temple also exhibits a unique style of architecture and a beautiful and charming shrine decorated with fabulous mural paintings, which shows mythological themes.

After the palace we visit a local community project which creates handmade eco-friendly paper from used textiles and clothing.

Consider visiting the seven-story Chaturbhuj Mandir which looms hauntingly over the village displaying strong Persian and Rajput architectural influences. Reached by a steep flight of steps, the 16th-century temple consists of an expansive vaulted assembly hall with impressive spires. You can make your way up the narrow spiral staircases for beautiful views from the temple rooftop.

Day 14 Panna Tiger Reserve

Morning drive to Panna National Park (Approx. 5 hours) by private vehicle. Enroute we stop to enjoy a traditional meal with a local family before heading to the Khajuraho temples.

Khajuraho temples were constructed between 950 A.D. and 1050 A.D during the reign of Chandela Empire. These temples are the largest group of medieval Hindu and Jain temples and listed as a World Heritage Site.

Wander through the western temples that show a celebration of love, life and worship and are famed for their erotic and ornate sculptures and statues dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temples also provide an uninhibited peek into ancient Hindu faith and Tantric practices. Originally there were 85 temples in total but today only 22 survive which were rediscovered in 1838 and subsequently restored.

Day 15 Panna Tiger Reserve

Morning jeep safari (Approx. 3 hours) to Panna National Park located in Panna and Chattarpur district of Madhya Pradesh is formally being renowned as the 22nd tiger reserve of India and fifth in Madhya Pradesh. By covering an area of 542.67 sq. km, Panna Reserve lies besides the areas of the Ken River at the central state of India, Madhya Pradesh at a distance of 57 km from Khajuraho, a world heritage centre.

Enjoy evening jeep safari (Approx. 3 hours) in the search of tigers and enjoy beautiful sunset over jungle.

Day 16 Khajuraho and Overnight train to Delhi

Consider taking another morning jeep safari in the jungle. Evening transfer to Khajuraho (Approx. 40 minutes) to catch the overnight train to Delhi (Approx. 13 hours).

Day 17 Delhi

Morning arrive to Delhi train station and transfer to your hotel by private car (APPROX. 45 Minutes).

Afternoon Delhi sightseeing (Approx. 4 hours).

After spending the day sightseeing, return to your hotel to wind down and reflect on this bustling and historical city.

Day 18 Departure Day

Check out time of your hotel is 12:00 Noon.

Transfer to the airport is included.
